Recently, Lauren White had the chance to sit down with Megan Stone, program manager at DaVinci Roofscapes, and Anthony Walsh, founder and owner of DuraShield Roofing & Contracting, for an episode of the AskARoofer Podcast. The conversation focused on how replacing a roof with DaVinci composite products is beneficial for homeowners not only quality and performance wise, but for aesthetic reasons, too.
In general, roofing is a huge investment in your home’s value. It’s a major decision, and it’s important that you choose the materials and design that’s not only worth the investment, but also positively increases the home’s curb appeal. Megan explained, “In 2022, the National Association of the Remodeling Industry, along with the National Association of Realtors, came out with what they call the Remodeling Impact Report. And in it, they discussed that there are two things that you can do to the exterior of your home that could provide a 100% return on investment (ROI). One of them is a garage door and the other is a new roof.”
The reason for this 100% ROI? Something that is called the “joy factor.” Megan explained, “The joy factor is a kind of subjective feeling that homeowners feel based off what they've done to their house. And from this, on a scale of 1-10, through the joy factor that they revealed that after people get a new roof, they are at a 9.2 in the joy factor. So, it's something that they're typically really excited about, really pleased about and there's a strong return on your investment for projects like that.”
Compounding upon the already strong ROI of replacing a roof, DaVinci products are especially good for homeowners looking to invest in their roof. Anthony explained, “With the changes some of the insurance companies are making [to their policies], people are a little bit more concerned about the longevity of their roof and the ROI of a reroof project. With DaVinci, they can spend a little bit more upfront to save over the long run, both on their insurance bill and on future maintenance and repairs.”
The reason DaVinci’s roof products deliver so much value? They are composite. Megan explained what this means, sharing, “Composite roofing products are made to emulate another kind of material. So, in the case of DaVinci, we make products that look like slate and wood shake that are actually made out of a proprietary blend of resins, UV stabilizers and fire retardants.” The result? A beautiful roof that brings homeowners joy and a trusted level of performance that will last.
