Lisa from BC Canada asks the following:

Insulation has been disturbed at certain areas at the north and south low areas of the attic. This is due to the vents installed along and near the lower areas of the roof. The box vents are approx 10-12 feet up from the eves. See photos. Is there a simple fix for this?

If I’m reading/seeing this correctly. It seems like maybe gusts of wind flowing through the vent has potentially disturbed the insulation over time.
My first thought is, I’m not sure those vents 10’ up from the eaves are necessary as I see there is insulation stops providing airflow from the soffit up into the attic already. Assuming there is attic vents close to the peak of the roof, these “middle” or “in between” vents are unnecessary and most likely detrimental to overall attic air flow. Generally you want an intake vent and then an outflow vent near the peak. If more vents are installed it could cause the circulation of air to simply move in that small 10’ area rather than the entire attic.

Again from what I’m seeing and understanding, I would recommend to remove and patch up those vents 10’ up from the eaves and ensure you have vents close to the peak.
