Robin from Washington asks: After the kitchen soffit was removed by a contractor, insulation fell out and I could see the attic. Now there is a hole in the peak of outside soffit. Are these Related?

Below is what our roofing expert Marty Stout from Go Roof Tune Up had to say in response to your question:

It seems like these are two unrelated events. 

 
The Kitchen Soffit is part of the living space of your house requiring insulation. The "Outside Side" Soffit is on the overhang of the roof and not in the living space so not part of the Kitchen. Not knowing what the outside soffit is made of I will guess some type of sheet metal material. It is not uncommon for this soffit material to fall off.
