Do it once, and do it right

AAR Expert Will Lorenz says sustainability comes down to choosing the right systems.

Emma Richardson: Hi everyone, I'm Emma Richardson here with AskARoofer.com and I'm talking to our expert Will Lorenzabout sustainable and cool roofs. Will, how are you today?

Will Lorenz: I'm fantastic. Thank you very much. Another day in paradise.

Emma Richardson: Good, good. Well, what do you have to share with people about sustainable and cool roofing?

Will Lorenz: Oh, there's lots to talk about there. You know, sustainability is about putting on your investment once and getting extended terms out of it. Performance for durability and longevity for 10 years, 20 years or beyond. And so choosing the right system, particularly things like spray foam, which can be extended, with a solar reflective cool roof system on top of it can be a great advantage for many times for low slope roofing. Also, if you have a membrane roof, a metal roof, things like that, you know, you can extend those with restorations and put on a cool roof system, which will be solar reflective and reduce your energy load into your building. So those are great solutions that people should consider in their roofing, because they offer the advantages of cost effectiveness, durability and longevity, which really is the key to sustainability. Do it once, do it right, and get the most value out of it.
