Underlayment or Deck Protection
The deck of a roof is typically proected by underlayment or what the roofing inustry calls felt. It is an asphalt product that is used as a moisture barrier and is used with almost all types of roofing systems. Here Jeff McCrickard is using the preferred 22 inch felt for a shake roof.
