Dormer
This is a shed roof or dormer on the backside of a cedar shake roof done by my crew in Sacramento California. We installed shakes on the walls as well, as you can see, to make a totally sealed dormer. It is hard to see but we also used a copper strip across the top coarse of shakes to control the algee from growing on this 12 and 12 pitch roof.
